Glasair Aviation, LLC is the only kitplane company in history to have two of its designers or design teams chosen to receive the prestigious Dr. August Raspet Memorial Award. The award, named for the late Mississippi State University professor of aerospace engineering August Raspet, is presented annually at the EAA Convention in recognition of "outstanding contributions to the advancement of the design of light aircraft and the Experimental Aircraft Association."

The 36th Annual Raspet Award was given to Tom Hamilton in 1985 in recognition of his design work on the original Glasair. The 45th annual award was given to the GlaStar Design Team in 1996 for that exciting new aircraft.

One obvious reflection of the quality of an aircraft kit is the quality of finished aircraft built from it. Over the years, builders of Glasair Aviation, LLC ,kits have posted an unparalleled record of achievement at airshows and contests around the world. The following list covers only the two largest, most prestigious annual sport aviation events in the United States — the Sun n' Fun Fly-In, held every spring in Lakeland, Florida, and the EAA Fly-In & Sport Aviation Convention, held every summer in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

The awards recorded here certainly reflect tremendous credit on the skill, dedication and spirit of our builders, but we feel that they also reflect the thorough engineering and high standards of quality that Glasair Aviation, LLC builds into every kit.
