Option Pricing

The options listed below are installations separate from the main Glasair Kits that must be selected prior to kit delivery. Option choices must be made in advance because one alternative is a standard part of the kit unless the other alternative is chosen. The Glasair options can be viewed in our new on-line catalog.

PRE-BUILT Fuselage

With the Pre-Built Fuselage Installation, the basic fuselage structure is factory pre-assembled.  In addition, the firewall (including the engine-mount recesses and corner gussets), the forward fuselage and firewall ribs, and the wing and stabilizer reinforcement laminates are all installed.  The wing and stabilizer cutouts are also completed.  On the Super II RG version, the nose gear box is completely fabricated and installed, while on the Super II FT version, the landing gear support ribs are installed.  Also for the Super II RG version, the shearweb and six of the eight ribs are installed on the lower horizontal stabilizer skin, making the stabilizer nearly ready to close.  In all, this option saves the average builder 350-450 hours, depending on the model.

Due to the way the System 4 sub-kits are defined the Pre-Built Horizontal Stabilizer is a separate option for the Glasair II FT.  The Pre-Built Horizontal is included in the Glasair III and Glasair II RG Pre-Built Fuselage Kit.

Note:  If the Pre-Built Fuselage option is ordered there is an additional $300 crating charge due to the bulky nature of the Pre-Built Fuselage.

PRE-BUILT Wing

With the Pre-Built Wing Installation, virtually all this work is done for you.  The wing arrives essentially structurally complete.  After you install your flight control components, landing gear components, and plumbing and wiring, the wing is ready to close.  In all, this option saves the average builder 300-400 hours, depending on model and experience.
